The aftertouch input seems to only accept mono signals - anyway to make it also respond to poly AT?
all instruments respond to both mono and poly AT. Which instrument do you mean, and which controller do you use?
Sorry I meant to say, Sumu, specifically, my controller is a Native Instruments S 61 MkIII
Aalto and Kaivo do respond to Poly AT - you can see the AT input glow when it is activated and I can use it for modulation
In Sumu that output does nothing when I am in Poly aftertouch mode - but actually for me it does nothing in Mono aftertouch mode either now I investigate further. On the other hand when my keyboard is in Mono AT mode the dy output lights up and modulates stuff - but only for Mono AT
Am I missing an additional setting somewhere? The manual says it supports Poly
I did wonder why none of the presets seem to be setup with AT as an output, maybe it is to be added?
Same problem with my Seaboard set to MPE mode - the AT output does nothing, only the dy responds to pressure
I'm finishing up the beta of MPE support right now, and am also testing Channel aftertouch in both MPE and MIDI modes. I'll send out the newsletter with a beta link as soon as I post it.
Great thanks, I wasn't sure if it hadn't been added yet or was just me not setting it up right
Any closer to releasing this beta?
Thanks for the update
Sorry to hear that. My focus has been on MPE. Hopefully that could be a workaround for you? You need to enable MPE in the INPUT [...] menu now.
I'll look into making sure regular Poly AT works also. There should be less time between updates now that I have the MPE work out of the way.
Yes I edited my post as I can see now that Poly AT does work but only in MPE mode (which is a bit weird as they are really very different protocols). Which also means I have to enable MPE mode in whatever host I am in as well for Poly AT to also work (and not all hosts support doing that). So it works, and I am grateful for that, but at some point it would be good not to have to go through as many hoops.
Some plugins (Pigments for example) just combine the mono and poly aftertouch inputs together as 'aftertouch' which works very nicely as I don't need to keep switching my controller to one or the other.
OK, totally heard about poly AT and MPE interaction, that is indeed weird. My intent is to combine mono + poly AT as you are describing Pigments does.
