Hi Simon,
Sorry for the trouble. There is a problem with the 1.4 Windows release that is affecting some users. On some systems a required Windows support DLL cannot be found. Usually the user sees an error such as "msvcp100.dll was not found." Depending on the host, you may not get a message. I have not seen it cause a crash before, however.
If that is the problem, you may be able to fix it by downloading this Windows developer support pack:

Please let me know if it works. And what version of Windows you have.
Hi Randy,
Thanks for the quick reply. I tried to install the Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x86)you recommended, but it appears I already have a more recent version of it on my computer (A newer version of Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable has been detected on the machine). It seems I can't install this version.
I run Window 7 (64) and Cubase 7.0.6. The issue was not specific to version 1.4. I first installed version 1.2 and I had the same issue. I updated to 1.4 thinking it would solve the problem, but I get the exact same crash and crash report.
Thanks for the support!
OK, I'll have to get a copy of Cubase and try to reproduce this.
Does it work on any other hosts on your Windows machine?
I have a cubase element licence you could use temporarily if needed, Let me know if you want to use it I'll forward the download link and activation key.
I haven't tried any other host yet.
Just wanted to chime in and say I run Windows 7 (64) and Cubase 6.5.5. I often run multiple instances of Aalto. Stable here.
One thing I have done for a while is run Cubase as an administrator and it significantly reduced any problems I had.
