Hi there
I'm working on a Apple silicon M1 OSX 12.6.1
Ableton Live 11.2.7
Kaivo and Aalto V 1.9.5
Either Kaivo is behaving strange: on preset change the audio output is gone. Daw still stable. No significant cpu usage.
I need to close and reopen the plugin - Same with AU and VST Version.
Also on Aalto sometimes I have to click back to the daw to have back midi input on the plugin.
Didn't upgrade recently. Ableton live is very stable.
Any idea?
Instead of closing and reopening the plugin, what if you change the resonator mode to something else and back? Does that fix it?
If not you could also try the body. In this way we might narrow it down.
I have not seen the midi input issue and will investigate.
Hi Randy and Alino
The issue with Kaivo is exactly same that I reported thread: https://madronalabs.com/topics/5753-virta-no-sound-when-reopen-the-project-version-1-02?locale=us
Apple silicon M1 OSX 12.6.3
Ableton Live 11.2.7
Kaivo and Aalto 1.9.5
I tried to narrow it down and found out, that at least on me, this is related to Kaivo's GUI stealing the computer's keyboard focus, when I click any of the Kaivo's GUI controls by mouse. This causes the Ableton Live's computer MIDI keyboard (keys A,W,S,E,D,F,...) keypresses not being recognised anymore. Same happens with Aalto as well.
So, when you play notes either from MIDI clip or by MIDI keyboard, this issue doesn't occur. And just clicking the Ableton Live's window behind the Kaivo GUI recovers the keyboard focus back to Live's computer MIDI keyboard..
But as it's sometimes comfortable just to sit on the living room's couch or outdoors only having the laptop, it'd be great to have Aalto and Kaivo behaving well with Live's computer MIDI keyboard. I noticed that some other vendor's plugins have exactly the same issue, whereas some plugins work flawlessly and don't steal the focus. It's possible that Ableton has also made some changes, but I cannot be sure, because I haven't paid attention to it.
Thanks @sntr for the input.
@alino.romano does this problem happen with MIDI from a keyboard controller, or only the computer keyboard MIDI like @sntr is talking about? Thanks.
I'm also having this issue but with the AU plugin only. I havent done much testing but it doesnt seem to happen with the VST. Havent tested a MIDI keyboard yet but I will tonight.
I'll appreciate the info, thanks. As far as I know this is an AU-only and computer keyboard-only problem.
I just purchased Kaivo and can not control it from the Mac Keyboard. This issue seems to have been around for some time. I can't use Kaivo in my current set up unless this gets fixed.
Also, it is only showing up on install as Au2 there is no VST option available.
(we sorted this out over email)
