I would love to test it as well. Have every Madrona Labs plug and been awaiting this forever! :)
I'm also experiencing extreme slow downs in Logic. The plugins are pretty much unusable. :(
Aalto is my go-to synth. I would love to see Aalto 2 with Kaivo's modulation, gate routing and two oscillators with audio modulation like in Virta.
I love all the features of Kaivo, but the granular oscillator and resonators are really hard to tame and very CPU intensive. For Kaivo I really would like to see a compressor or some sort of function to tame the insane resonance peaks that often appears. Even a lot of the presets often clip like crazy.
@thetechnobear
The sequencer is awesome! I really missed it in Virta. I think most people would mainly use it for modulation or gating effects, but as a sequencer you can do awesome stuff like poly rhythms or evolving sequences. I would actually love to see the sequencer expanded with gate length destination and bipolar curves.
Hi Randy,
It's the latest version of Reason and OSX. Can check if it's a specific pitch and test it in Bitwig.
This patch with at some random point break down the audio and silence Aalto and any fx plugins after it. No idea what's so special about the routing, but it seems to be a bug since it still messes up after drastically changing the patch.

It's pretty common in the plugin world to release a new version that's technically a new plugin and will not replace the old one or work with old patches. I'm completely fine with Aalto 2 just being a separate product like with Dune 1 & 2 from Synapse.
It is actually quite buggy in Reason. :(
For some reason Aalto is the only plugin instrument I have that does not support plugin players. Maybe it´s the lack of a native clock?
For an instrument like Aalto it´s essential that I can use it either as a standalone application or in a plugin player like Rax or pMix, so I don´t have to fire up an entire DAW to play live or make some patches.
Mainstage is a really heavy program so it probably has a lot of features and rock solid plugin support. I want to use Audio Plugin Player and pMix because they are very lightweight, easy to use (Mainstage is a bloated mess) and takes a second to launch.
What happens: Aalto does not receive any midi information neither externally or internally when using the plugin players. This is the only plugin instrument I have that behaves this way. Running Aalto´s step sequencer in free rate is the only way to trigger it. This is the case with both the AU and VST version.
Also Aalto crashes the plugin player when I try to replace it with another plugin.
Another unrelated bug I´m struggling with, which happens in both plugin players and DAWs are crazy CPU spikes, feedback loops (as in sudden clipping noise caused by changing presets or polyphony) and crashing (happens when I have a lot of modulation). These bugs happens in both Studio One and Ableton Live.
I´m sure that I probably need to upgrade my computer (2.4 Ghz Dual Core, 4 GB RAM Macbook Pro), but Aalto is still the most unstable plugin instrument in my collection (I have quite a few). Even Uhe Diva and FXpansion DCAM are completely stable, and they use more CPU than Aalto.
Loaded Aalto into Numerology and stayed up all night making crazy stacks.
Since Numerology lets you easily route different modulation to every parameter you can really get creative and realize Aalto's true potential. In Numerology everything can be modulated/sequenced so you can also modulate the modulators in every way.
I hightly recommend N3 and especially to Aalto users.
