ForumsHardware ← Catalina?

Hi Everyone,

I've "upgraded" to catalina. Does the soundplane app work with Catalina, it isn't for me and I'm wondering if it is a me issue.

Thanks,

Adam

Hi, it works on my Catalina machine. Can you describe what is not working?

As an all-purpose fix I would recommend to remove the ~/Library/Application Support/Soundplane directory and run the app again to redo the setup process.

Hi Randy,

Thanks! That did it! The folder I removed was the Madrona Labs folder that had Sounplane inside of it.

Much appreciated,

Adam

Oh my mistake, ~/Library/Application Support/Madrona Labs/Soundplane. Glad to hear it!

Hi Randy,

Sorry, it is me again. Part of my problem was using a USB3.0 hub instead of a 2.0 hub. I've solved that but when I open 1.8.3 on my mac running 10.15.7 the setup runs successfully and then gives me a window where I click ok. After clicking ok the client shuts down. Looking through the logs, it doesn't seem to be crashing but I do get the following diagnostic report:

Try starting the setup app with the Soundplane unplugged, then only plugging it in once the app prompts you to. I heard one report that this avoided an issue.

To force setup and get a clean slate, delete the support files again before this.

I just ran into a similar crash -- I was able to work around this by clicking "Cancel" after the software says it's waiting for the Soundplane to be plugged in. At this point, the full UI of the application loads, and I am able to then plug in the Soundplane and have it successfully connect.

For what it's worth, hitting 'cancel' and then plugging in after the UI loads also fixed this for me. Soundplane app running on Monterey, connected through a Thunderbolt 3 hub.
