ForumsSoftware ← Error messages about Kaivo's sample rates in Logic 9

Hi All,

Loving the new Kaivo presets.

When using Kaivo in Logic 9, I have been getting the following messages:

"Error while trying to synchronize Audio and MDI. Sample rate [various 5 digits numbers have appeared here] recognizied. Check conflict between Logic Pro and external device."

Crackling and scratchy noises sometimes appear. Advice?

Thanks John D

That's an error Logic sends out when it runs out of CPU time. If you are getting it a lot, you can reduce the number of voices in Kaivo, or check out the news post "Getting the most out of Kaivo" for some other ideas.

That would explain why it doesn't happen sometimes. Problem is Kaivo sounds so good I wanted to use 5 separate instances of it on a track yesterday! : ) Thanks for the word on the news post ... it totally answered my lingering questions re RAM, voices, etc.

I think the acoustic bass patch is the best model I've heard, I don't think of it in terms of accuracy but rather sounding amazing. I wrote a review of Aalto and Kaivo on my blog a while back (http://johnhdavis.com/2014/03/09/the-core-is-getting-soft-10-madrona-labs/) but I don't think I had really grasped at the time just how much better Kaivo's engine is at rendering the sound of acoustic vibrations - and I say that as someone whose first instrument was the guitar. Kaivo is gonna be on my next record in a big way!

Thx for making it,

JD
