ForumsSoftware ← Trouble installing Soundplane software

I'm having a hard time getting the Soundplane software installed. The README.TXT says:

In order to prepare the build, the following commands can be used.

    $ mkdir build
    $ cd build
    $ cmake -GXcode ..

Terminal takes the first two commands just fine, but I can't enter the third without getting the following error:

CMake Error:

Any hints?

Do you have your heart set on building the source? If not, you can try the released version at the Hardware forum:

There's also a manual and some Max/MSP patches on the hardware forums.

I don't know why you are getting this CMake error. It's not one I've encountered. Google turns up some related threads.

No, my heart was not set on building it from source. Thank you! I don't know how I missed that forum post. I have application installed and the Zones and Touches tabs show that it's receiving input . I'm having trouble getting that input to other software though. I'm trying to set this up with Pure Data. When I go into pd's preferences I can select "Soundplane IAC Out" as the MIDI in but no input comes through when I play it. I was messing around with the app earlier and setting up some orientation of the active, pressure, and MPE switches under "MIDI" got pd to receive the input, but then the program crashed and I haven't been able to recreate whatever parameters I had set.

Nevermind, I have gotten it to work with both Garageband and Renoise. Whatever is preventing it from working with Pure Data must be a Pure Data related issue. Thank you for the help! I can't want to start getting the hang of using this.

Hey that's great! The path is not always clear for new Soundplane users now so I'm glad you were able to find what you needed. I'll be around when you have more questions.

Searching the forums here using the support page should turn up a lot of info from back when more people were getting started.
