ForumsSoftware ← Sounplane application introduces latency if off focus

Hi

I notice a latency introduced from the soundplane application if the application stays off focus for a minute or so. as soon as the application gets the focus back, the latency is gone.

OSX 10.10.5
Soundplane Client v.1.4
Soundplane Firmware 0.9.5

cheers

martin

PS. It is impossible to find the download link for the most current soundplane application. at least I didnt find it.

I have seen this occasionally also. I think it only happens when the CPU is under heavy load. I'm back to Soundplane software soon and I'll see what I can do about it.

The most recent app info is kept at
http://madronalabs.com/topics/1691-sticky-soundplane-client-for-mac
which is the topmost "hardware" forum topic. I should put it on the product page too.

Here's the actual link:

I think I know now what causes this: OSX is probably responsible for this.

Unfortunately I cant test it right now, but there is a way to disable this feature system wide:

I see if I can confirm this sometime soon. if it is the case, your newly revamped app would need the little toggle inside the info panel to take the app off this feature.

Good thinking, please keep us posted if you do a test.

I can confirm my suspicion: APP Nap is the culprit for this latency. When switching it off globaly, it doesnt occur.
