ForumsSoftware ← Kaivo: nonlin how to hear it?

I've been trying to work out what the nonlin dial does sonically (I've read the manual so I understand the principle) by loading presets and messing with it on the resonator to hear what the difference is. I've yet to be able to discern any difference between it at 0.0 and 1.0.

Please help me out, is there one of the included patches where it makes a clear difference to the sound to them? Can you describe it? Perhaps I am missing something…

Thanks.

Matt

Good morning... Yes nonlin doesn't really do anything for some models. For others it does something but is subtle. The gut string should be not subtle- there it affects the tension modulation and thus the pitch envelope. Sorry if this was driving you crazy.

Not driving me crazy… not quite :) Thanks, I will try playing with that model and see what I can hear.
