Kaivo being the main culprit for me. So more cpu boost on the way will be awesome! It's one of the maddest plugins around soundwise.

Wed, Mar 15, 2017, 16:23

Yep really glad with the cpu optimisations. Thank you!

Yeah awesome Randy!

Fri, Oct 16, 2015, 12:09

Yes do that Randy:)

Thu, Oct 08, 2015, 12:40

looks really cool Randy! Would be cool to see a real madrona labs modular synth where you just layout all the available modules (from the three synths and more) that you want on screen. I would certainly pay a good chunk of money to get my hands on something like that. I understand though it would probably make it harder for you to sell your other plugins. Unless you make a modular vst where if you own the product you can use the available modules anyway you want. Anyway I'm just dreaming here :)

animoog and other apps support audiocopy so you just copy it and then paste in audioshare (if you have it, great app) then from audioshare you can e-mail it to yourself. Some apps allow you to send them to dropbox also. It depends how the dev did but audiocopy is pretty much everywhere on ios.

The other one is maybe with ifunbox, you can pretty much go through the ipad and then go to the app's directory and copy the rendered audiofile to your mac manually.

possible bugs in Kaivo

HI Randy!

When I select bike pump as a granulator source, It loads the default sinewave.

Also not sure about this but the rate in granulator is at zero, changing samples doesn't seem to work. You can see the sample in the wave display change but the sound remains the same.

Mon, Mar 10, 2014, 04:29

Just dug in the manual and at a rate of 0 for the granulaotr, no new grains are formed so changing samples shouldn't change the sound I guess.

Sat, Mar 08, 2014, 17:52

Randy mentioned this before, he will more models over time for sure.

Wed, Mar 05, 2014, 15:03

This is great Randy! Plenty of crazy sounds to be made with that!
Gonna hold till the budget is there but I'm definitely getting this!

@jbe I guess you just need to download the presets from the website where the demo is located. It should work for both demos and full version.

I'm buying this fully modular Aalto when it comes out regardless of what it does. :) Please keep us posted!

Hahaha! Funny indeed!

Tue, Apr 09, 2013, 15:04
  • 1989 yamaha recording cuztom drumset with a dw-5000 double pedal.
  • roland spd-sx with a kd-9 trigger bd.
  • korg wavedrum oriental limited edition
  • core i7 cuttom built desktop and toshiba laptop running Ableton live 9 or audiomulch. All of u-he plugins (been beta testing for them). Mobius looper, mux, reaktor, absynth, ect.
  • crappy little oxygen25.
  • audio technica ath-m50 headphones.
  • roland octacapture soundcard (awesome)
  • m-audio delta1010 and an audiophile

old gear I don't use so much:

  • yamaha dx-7
  • roland pc-70
  • roland r8 with all the expansion cards
  • simmons sds-9
  • simmons sds-8
  • simmons sds-1000
  • roland pad-8

Ultimetly I'd like to get:

  • drumit five electronic drumset or a roland one.
  • a new 61 note keyboard controller. Not sure which one.
  • a chapman stick
  • a malletkat controller.
  • quality drum mics.
  • more but I'm dreaming here.

Be curious to know how people use Aalto also.

I pretty much tweakit live while jamming with the spd-sx-wavedrum on top. I'll also play chords or bassline with the left hand and playing a beat with my left hand/right foot on the spd-sx and doing backvocals. We are only 2 in the band but we both share musical duties. It sounds like a full band pretty much.

So far Aaalto is my favorite synth for tweaking live since everything is pretty much in yo face and patchable.

Sat, Apr 06, 2013, 13:23

I've tried replicating the problem here in Windows 7 64 bit with live 9.0.2 32 bit and everything seems to work no prob for me. Opening/closing Aalto's window while playing the computer keys. No prob here, not a single click or dropouts.

Wed, Mar 20, 2013, 13:16

Right now I'm pretty good with m4l in ableton 9 to manipulate Aalto. I realize not everybody has Ableton but for my part I'm good. I certainly would like to see some kind of audio input straight to the waveguide delay though. The lfo could use additional waveforms (I know you can use the seq but...)

save as version location

I made a preset that I saved to the users patches in a folder of mine which is in appdata/roaming/madrona labs/blablabla on win 7. However when I use save as version after that, the preset is stored in programdata/madrona labs/ect which seems to be Randy's patches. Anyway to have to have them saved to the same location as the original preset?

Cheers!

Thu, Jan 24, 2013, 18:05

Awesome! Quick save as version is so useful!

Mon, Jan 21, 2013, 14:20

Noticed that as well. I though it was something with my patch. :)

Mon, Jan 14, 2013, 07:39

small req about pasting patches from clipboard

When I try to save a patch that I pasted from the clipboard (forum patch for example), I have to enter the patchname in the dialog box even though the patch already has a name. I guess it's self-explanatory so no need for a question ;)

p.s. Perhaps also an info box to put comments on how to use the patch or things to try.
